Course Unit Description
This course seeks to introduce the students to the general principles of horticultural crop production.
Course objectives
- To impart knowledge and skills on horticultural crop production and management
- To give knowledge and skills on the various value addition techniques and marketing of horticultural crops.
Learning outcomes
At the end of this course the students should be able to:
- Explain the importance of different horticultural crops
- Describe the management practices in the production of various horticultural crops
- Propagate, produce and manage various horticultural crops right from nursery/seedbed preparation to harvesting
- Process, add value, and market various horticultural crops
- Apply improved methods to increase the quality and yields of horticultural crops
