Course Unit Description

This course seeks to introduce the students to the general principles of horticultural crop production.

Course objectives

  • To impart knowledge and skills on horticultural crop production and management
  • To give knowledge and skills on the various value addition techniques and marketing of horticultural crops.

Learning outcomes
At the end of this course the students should be able to: 

  • Explain the importance of different horticultural crops
  • Describe the management practices in the production of various horticultural crops
  • Propagate, produce and manage various horticultural crops right from nursery/seedbed preparation to harvesting
  • Process, add value, and market various horticultural crops
  • Apply improved methods to increase the quality and yields of horticultural crops
