Course Unit Description

This course is designed to give a broader overview of the various body systems in humans including their overall functions, anatomy, physiology and diseases that affect them. The inter-relatedness in functioning for a healthy body will be highlighted. 

Course Objectives
By the end of the course students will be able to:

  • Understand the structure and functioning of various body systems in humans
  • Explain the inter-relatedness in functioning among body systems
  • Understand  the various diseases affecting each  body system, cause, signs, symptoms, effects and prevention

Expected Outcomes

  • Adequately trained students to teach with a proper understanding of body systems
  • Advise on ways of maintaining proper body functioning
  • Students with a clear understanding of inter-relatedness of body systems
