Course Unit Description
This course expound comprehensively on feeding and nutrition in a variety of living organisms including the necessity for feeding, sources of food, proper feeding, and consequences of improper diet and feeding habits like over- and under- nutrition will be discussed including obesity, malnutrition, marasmus, kwashiorkor. The concept of disease and drug use and misuse in addition to their effects on the body and society will be discussed.
Course Objectives
By the end of the course students will be able to:
- Understand nutritional requirements in both plants and animals for a better health
- Outline the common diseases in our environments , their causes, signs, symptoms and prevention or cure
- Understand the consequences of drug use and misuse to the body and community
