DBA2101 Procurement and Supplies Management

Procurement becomes of strategic importance to firms, in helping them achieve their goals and objectives. This is only possible way if there is proper procurement and Supply chain Management. This course will therefore introduce students to the basic concepts in procurement and Supply Chain Management.

Course Objectives

• To familiarize students with the basic principles of purchasing and supply chain Management.
• To enable students appreciate the role of purchasing and supply chain management in ensuring accurate, timely and constant supply of goods and services to wherever they are needed.
• To enable the students appreciate the role of purchasing and supplies management in making organizations competitive in today’s business environment by creating value for money for all purchases.
• To enable the students appreciate the emerging issues in purchasing in light of the new technology and business environment changes
