Course Unit Description
Macroeconomics provides an introduction to modern macroeconomic analysis, which focuses on the national economy and its international economic relations. This course includes areas such as growth and employment, wage and price dynamics, and consumption and saving behavior. In this course, students will be exposed to two main modern schools of macroeconomic thought, that is, the New Classical, the other the Keynesian the course builds on economic principle learnt in Microeconomics as a foundation to other branches of economics. The course deals with economic variables that affect the whole economy such as development economics, monetary economics and international economics.
Course Objectives
- Introduce students’ economic variables that affect the whole economy,
- Help students learn international economic operations and decisions together with their effects on the local economy
- Expose students to the theory and practice behind the growth and development of macroeconomics
Learning Outcomes
- At the end of the course, students should be able to make decisions in their businesses/organizations with the help of macroeconomic tools
- To equip students with the basic macroeconomic practices to help them in running their businesses
