Course Objectives

  • To impart basic statistical analysis skills for research use

Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, learners should be able to:

  • Identify types of data
  • Determine and interpret measures of location, and measures of dispersion
  • Create and examine data display methods
  • Distinguish and determine a sample and a population
  • Describe the basic concepts of probability
  • Use at least one computer application to determine measures of location, measures of dispersion and create data displays
  • Examine the relationship between quantitative variables using correlation 
  • Examine the relationship between categorical variables using chi square test
