Course Unit Description

Environmental concerns are of importance in agricultural production systems. This course will introduce basic environmental concepts in regard to agricultural production. The current ways of production and how unsustainable they are to the environment. The sustainable ways to use to produce that do not harm the environment.

Course Objective

  • To explain the basic environmental concepts in sustainable agricultural development 
  • To explain the conventional ways of production that are not sustainable
  • To explain the sustainable ways of agricultural production that are not harmful and protect the environment

Learning outcomes
At the end of this course the student should be able to:

  • Appreciate the environmental concerns of conventional agriculture
  • Describe the sustainable ways of agricultural production
