BST2103 Map, Photo and Field Skills

This unit focuses on maps, photos and field studies for skills which are necessary in social studies teaching and learning. 

Course Objectives
By the end of this unit, students should be able to:

• Acquire knowledge and skills in drawing and using maps in teaching Social Studies
• Gain skills in interpreting and using photographs in teaching Social Studies
• Carry out field work appropriately

Learning out comes
By the end of the course unit participants will be able to:

• Use maps to locate, explain special distributions and analyse developmental challenges and prospects shown on maps
• Derive interpretations from photos of landscapes so us to identify development opportunities and challenges
• Carry out field work appropriately
