Course Unit Description
The term “Human resource planning and management” at organizational or corporate level is also known as human resources, personnel administration or personnel management refers to same activities with managing people at work. Therefore, the term can be used interchangeable in the course of this course. Manpower Planning which is also called as Human Resource Planning consists of putting right number of people, right kind of people at the right place, right time, doing the right things for which they are suited for the achievement of goals of the organization. Human Resource Planning has got an important place in the arena of industrialization. Human Resource Planning has to be a systems approach and is carried out in a set procedure. In this unit, you will learn the definition and meaning of manpower, objectives of manpower, its rational in an organization and manpower planning process.
Course Objectives
This course will enable students to:
- Understand the importance of human resource planning as a precedent of other human resource processes
- Use human resource plans to carry out human resource management functions
