Course Unit Description
This course intends to equip students with approaches, methods, skills, techniques of teaching language and literature. It comprises general principles of teaching: Preparation: the syllabus, scheme of work, lesson plan, Delivery: approaches/ methods, and techniques of teaching, and selection and development of teaching materials and Assessment and evaluation of the teaching/learning.
Course Objectives
- To equip students with skills and methods to teach language and literature
- Be able to prepare, plan and teach effectively
- To acquaint learners with skills to manage, organize and control the language classroom for effective delivery of content
- To help learners develop competence-based assessment and evaluation material
- To equip learners with skills and knowledge in developing materials for implementing the curriculum.
