BLS1103 Psychology & Sociology of Language Learning &Teaching

This course introduces students to the main features of the sociology and psychology of English language learning, and the effects on teaching and learning. It includes theories of language learning, first and second language learning, sociology, and language and culture.

Course Objectives 

• Examine the main aspects of psychology and sociology of language learning and teaching.
• Explore the difference between language acquisition and learning
• Discuss the theories of language learning and teaching
• Examine the social aspect of language, and the relationship between language and culture
