BIO2201 Vertebrates Biology
Course Unit Title
BIO2201 Vertebrates Biology
Course Unit Description
This course is designed to provide learners with a comprehension of a diversity of vertebrates (fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals) using an evolutionary approach. Morphological, physiological, ecological and behavioral adaptations in relation to feeding, locomotion, communication, reproduction, and conservation will be emphasized. A comparative approach will be used when studying animals
Course objectives
By the end of the course students will be able to:
- Describe the morphological, physiological and behavioral adaptations for locomotion, feeding, communication, reproduction in vertebrates
- Trace the evolutionary origin and classify vertebrates
- Describe the various method s to conserve vertebrates
Expected outcomes
- Produce graduates with who can teach biology comprehensively
- Produce nature- concerned citizens
