Course Unit Description
The course is designed to provide students with the understanding of the data collection and analysis. The course will cover business statistical techniques for data collection presentation and analysis such as frequency tables and graphs and measures of central tendencies such as the mean, median and mode. The course will also cover dispersion and statistical analytical issues such as standard deviation and variances, statistical probabilities, time series and index numbers, Hypothesis testing, regressions and correlations.
Learning Outcomes
On completion of this course, students should be able to
- Understand and appreciate the use of statistical data collection and analysis techniques in making business decision.
- Calculate and interpret measures of central tendency and dispersion
- Make business decisions using statistical results from regression and correlation analysis.
