Course Unit Description

This course discusses the different farm production systems and decision-making process as well as the role of farm manager in promoting adoption of innovation in agriculture.

Course Objectives

  • Introduce the student to managerial concepts and decision-making tools and to develop competency in applying them to farm business management situations. 
  • Develop their knowledge of economic principles/theory underlying resource allocation problems on the farm and the decision-making process.

By the end of the course, students should be able to:

  • Manage risks and uncertainties in farming business
  • Managing farm production resources
  • Formulate and use relevant farm records and financial statements in agribusiness enterprise management.
