The course covers program planning, activities, reporting, monitoring and evaluation, and basic statistics

Course Objectives

• To enable students, acquire knowledge and skills in agricultural statistics
• To plan extension programs and carry out research and write up reports on activities carried out 
• To carry out outreach and write up reports on activities carried out.

Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course the student should be able to:

• Explain the relevance of statistics in agricultural production
• Identify the types, sources of data, methods of data collection, and data presentation.
• Explain the terms used in data analysis, analysis of data as applied in agricultural statistics
• Define program planning and research, practice principles of program planning and research
• Explain advantages and disadvantages of planning, define the phases of program planning, define logical framework, project monitoring and budgeting tools.
• Define a report, state the types of reports, a format of a report and state sections of a good report.
