APM 2203 Dairy Production, Value Addition & Marketing
Course Unit Description
This course introduces the student to the dairy value chain, processing for value addition and explains the economic importance of the dairy industry in Uganda.
Course Objectives
- To equip students with skills in dairy husbandry
- To train learners in dairy processing for value addition and marketing of dairy products.
- To make the student acquainted with the SWOT of the Ugandan dairy industry.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, learners should be able to:
- To raise dairy animals
- Produce the various dairy products and work in the dairy processing plants
- To know and be able to access the dairy hazard critical control points
- To know and be able to access the dairy hazard critical control points
- Produce dairy animals, add value to milk and market milk products
- To know the mandate, policies and the operations of the Dairy Development Authority
