Course Unit Description
This course introduces the students to the beef industry and the value chain concept with regard to the beef production.
Course Objectives
- To equip students with skills and knowledge in beef production
- To equip students with fundamental concepts of value chain systems, value addition and marketing of beef products.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course the student should be able to:
- Know the needs, behavior health and management of beef animals
- Appreciate special aspects of housing, breeding and nutrition with regard to beef producing animals.
- Set up a beef production unit and manage it
