Course Unit Description

The course will provide students with the understanding and operations of public financial management systems, Government accounting and public sector auditing. The course will also cover the role of three arms of Government in public financial management, public sector budgeting process and budget execution. Students will also study Public sector audits, Public expenditure and financial accountability, integrated public financial systems and Fiscal decentralization strategy

On completion of this course, students should be able to

  • Describe elements and scope of public sector financial management
  • Carry out public sector budgeting and audits
  • Evaluate Medium Term Expenditure Framework and multiyear programming approaches
