Course Objectives 
At the end of this course, the students should be able to: 

• Predict chemical stability and reactivity after understanding the structure of the atom. 
• Understand the fundamental concept needed to explain atomic and molecular structures in qualitative or semi quantitative terms. 
• Explain and account for the geometry and shapes of molecules. 
• Describe some useful qualitative approaches, including some of the opposing views of bonding. 
• Develop a simple pictorial approach to describe bonding and develop symmetry arguments required for some of the more complex cases. 

Expected outcomes 

• Students will adequately gain knowledge of inorganic chemistry
• Improved subject content command and skills for teaching inorganic chemistry
