FWR2206 Aquaculture engineering
Course Unit Title
FWR2206 Aquaculture engineering
Course Unit Description
This course applies mathematical concepts to aquaculture production systems with the use of computer simulation to enhance water quality and productivity. Environmental conditions, feeding and fertilization factors are important components of the course. Aquaculture engineering encompasses knowledge of many general aspects of engineering such as material technology, building design and construction, mechanical engineering and environmental engineering.
Learning objectives
By the end of the course, Students will be able to;
- Learn about the concepts and terminologies used in aquaculture engineering.
- Learn about the methods of water treatment and re-cycling
- Learn about water cleaning techniques and hygiene.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, Students should be able to;
- Apply the concepts and terminologies learnt in aquaculture engineering
- Conduct water treatment and re-cycling
- Apply the techniques learnt in water cleaning
