DFB2203 Special Needs Education

This course is meant to train teachers on how to handle pupils with special needs. It handles different types of disabilities among learners and  prepares a teacher to take into consideration all forms of disabilities as he/she prepares his/her lessons.

Objectives

• To prepare teachers who understand different disabilities and how to help learners with disabilities.
• To prepare teachers who can provide guidance and counseling to learners with disabilities
• To create environmental awareness among teachers who will in turn create such awareness among their pupils.

Learning out comes

• Teachers will be able to identify different form of disabilities among pupils
• Teachers will be able to design learner’s activities that that suit different learners depending on their special needs.
• Teachers will be able to provide guidance to learners with special problems in their classes/schools.
• To develop program m of study; learning objectives; learning and assessment of students with special needs.
• Ability to conduct surveys in exploring the way ahead of curriculum reforms in special schools
