Course Unit Description
The students are exposed to principles and relevance of post-harvest management in agricultural production. The course will impart skills and knowledge in harvesting and postharvest technologies that ensure minimum qualitative and quantitative losses.
Course objective
- To explain simple methods of post-harvest handling practices
- To describe the different crop losses, their causes and reduction
- To describe the appropriate crop storage structures and methods
- To understand primary and secondary processing and preservation of various foods.
