Busitema University (BU) Makes Hand sanitizers as a response to fight against Covid19

Busitema University (BU) Makes Hand sanitizers in a response fight against the deadly pandemic Covid 19. The university is committed to pursue excellence and is a change agent in Eastern Uganda. The university's response towards the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic is multipronged as follows:

Pending approval by the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) and National Drug Authority (NDA), Busitema University Faculty of Health Sciences (BUFHS) has finalized with production of the first batches of sanitizers for distribution at the university and various hospitals/communities in Eastern Uganda.

In the same vein, the university has also continued to deploy BUFHS clinical staff members to Mbale Regional Referal Hospital. Other staff are further involved in different research projects such as development of Nano-inspired smart masks; Mathematical models for flattening the pandemic curve; Detection of SARS-CoV2 RNA in recovered COVID-19 Pateints and the general population among others.
